Introduction

The 12th Midi Music Festival aka Changjiang Midi Music Festival (长江迷笛音乐节) will take place on the tourist island Shi Ye Zhou (世业洲岛) right on the Yangtse River in Zhenjiang City, between the 1st and 4th October 2010. With an astonishing program line up with international big names such as Soulfly, Shadows Fall, Finntroll, Loudness, Kyte, The Agonist etc. but also Chinese premiere league rockers like Tang Dynasty, Wang Yong, 2nd Hand Rose, Voodoo Kungfu, Suffocated, Yaksa and so forth, it will definitely be the best, Chinese rock festivals have to offer so far. Head-master of Midi School and festival guru Zhang Fan aims to become one of the best "Asian rock festivals with such a strong stage line up".

After the tremendous success of Midi Festival in May last year, Beijing Midi Music School and Zhenjiang City Administration have signed up for 10 years collaboration on Music Festivals and officially renamed Zhenjiang Midi Music Festival to Yangtse Midi Music Festival. After a long process of research and considerations, both sides picked the beautiful spot named Jing Jiang Du (京江渡) of the Yangtse island Shi Ye Zhou. With the opening of the Festival, all music related radio and TV stations and online media will broadcast and report about this huge live event both in sound and pictures, as well.

Before the actual Zhenjiang Midi Festival, a warm-up performance will be held with the 2010 Orange Isle Music Festival.

Yuan Stage

The 2010 MIDI Festival Dance Stage will be presented by Shanghai party machine The Ice Cream Truck.

The Ice Cream Truck Dance Stage will have a full program of up-and-coming DJ’s, producers and artists who are the future of the electronic music scene in China. These individuals are the trailblazers rising to put the People’s Republic on the map of the global electronic music scene. Collectively, these artists are a refreshing mix of both new and experienced acts, as well as local and international talent. They represent the true independent spirit of MIDI.
