2009

2009 March-April: European Tour (36 dates in France, Italy, Austria, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark and UK) ... Xiao_He_Europe_Tour_2009. In April, his song 老来難 was included in the compilation record Red Bulldozer. In May 2009, Xiao He is voted the no. 20 coolest rock star in Beijing by Timeout Beijing Magazine. Though he takes the artiness to extreme lengths – Birds That Can Fly High Don’t Land on the Backs of Oxen That Can’t Run Fast is not his silliest album title – there’s incredible musicianship involved, and his voice has a soaring clarity. A sign of his brilliance is that he’s every bit as captivating when he’s just on his own with an acoustic guitar. Cool is ‘When you realise that bad things are good. I used to fight a lot. I was dangerous. Now when something bad happens to me I consider it as a punishment for the things I did before' [1] August 21st, Xiao He performed together with Zhi Wang in Shanghai's YuYinTang. According to Jake Newby: This time round, for the release of his latest album 身份的表演 (The Performance of Identity), the self-sampling and experimentation was there from the start. Instead of just a straight-forward semi-acoustic, he also had what I believe is technically known as "this cool little box thing" on the base of his guitar which enabled him to switch the sound produced by it.[2] November, Maybe Mars sends Carsick Cars, P.K. 14 and Xiao He on a showcase through North America. Xiao He performed on November 5th in Brooklyn's powerHouse Arena. On the 6th he rocked New York's Glasslands. According to fans participating the show: xiao he was incredible, awesome -- apparently pretty drunk before he even started soundcheck.[3]

2010

On March 6th, 2010, they performed in the D-22 during the Beyond The Ocean show of Maybe Mars Records. According to Alex of Beijing Gig Guide: For this show, he just sat on stage with an acoustic guitar and himself, and built some amazing folk songs with his loops. The crowd was quiet for each song, but broke into enthusiastic applause at the end, with the occasional whoop for another layer being added to the song. It was a good set, if short, but it didn’t really fit with the rest of the acts playing that night.[4] On May 1st, he performed at the Strawberry Music Festival 2010.[5] On May 2nd, 2010, he performed at the Midi Music Festival 2010.
