History

Formed 1989, disbanded 1993;

This is the first band of guitar player and vocalist Gao Qi who later became a rock star himself with his own band Overload. Gao Qi and Cao Jun were the main creative core of The Breathing, yet they had to wait until another fronting artist to join the band to become the creme de la creme in chinese rock. Female vocalist Wei Hua is a legend herself and was one of the most famous TV/Radio host through out the nation before she decided to challenge a rock band. She quit her job at central international radio and started her struggles as the first chinese rock lady in an overall male-dominated genre.

Her catchy, strong singing is loaded with emotions and hope, supported by Gao Qi's guitar work. After she officially join the band in 1990 she soon started to contribute to the songwriting with her own lyrics.

Due to musical differences band members went apart more and more, 1993 at "China's Olympic Dreams"-Festival was the last official gig of the band, soon later the band disbanded.
