History
Seraphim is a Dark/Power Metal band from Taiwan. The band is formed by mastermind Kessier and Bassplayer Ah Zhong after they disbanded Firedance. At a recording session of Assassin, opera singer Lee Peiying was invited to take over some parts. It was at this time that Lee Peiying caught the eye of Kessier whom then offered her the lead vocal role in Seraphim. The first 3 albums produced focused the entire music concept around Lee Peiying's opera singing, marking the first Chinese step into Opera-Metal.
Seraphim released an album called "六翼不死魂 (The Soul That Never Dies)" in 2001. Musically, they mix various elements from different metal styles; mainly Black Metal, Progressive and Gothic Metal. Their music is quite technical and has obviously been influenced by thrash metal. They likewise use intricate arrangements with epic or psychedelic piano parts.
Though 六翼天使 is mainly a female fronted band, another singer using growled vocals is also used at times in the typical complementary manner often heard in Gothic band creating an overall symphonic sound.
