Qiheban (七合板, Seven-Ply Board or Seven-Piece Puzzle, real translation unknown) existed from November 1984 until 1985 and performed mostly famous pop and rock songs. Having performed live, Qiheban consisted of Cui Jian, Liu Yuan, Yang Yueqiang, Wen Bo, Zhou Xiaoming and Li Xiuli.


History

Formed in November 1984 and disbanded in June 1985. One of the pioneer bands in the cradle of Chinese rock, mostly doing western cover songs. All members came from the Beijing Oriental Ensemble 北京东方歌舞团.

The album of Qi He Ban from 1985, the name 斯卡保罗集市 is a phonetic translation of Garfunkel's "Scarborough Fair". On the cover "Qi He Ban" is translated as "With Seven Player Band".
