Introduction
taken from en.cnci.gov.cn (by Editor: Christy Zhao):
Featuring international acts such as Ono Lisa and Eels, a brand new music festival is set to unveil itself on Sunday and Monday at the Beijing Olympic Sports Center, in the hopes of luring thousands of audience members from the other numerous festivities being held during the Dragon Boat Festival period.
The Kama Love Music Festival also plans to include some 20 other artists including Canadian alternative rock group Cowboy Junkies, British art-rock band These New Puritans and French bossa nova-style act Nouvelle Vague.
Chinese musicians Zhang Yadong, Lao Lang, Hao Yun and Zuoxiao Zuzhou will also join the fun.
Main organizer Zhang Youdai, also a well-known DJ with Beijing Music Radio, said he hopes to make Kama a comfortable place for a more mature audience, with musical styles drawn from blues, jazz, pop, rock, electronic, country and folk.
"When I went to the Strawberry and Midi festivals, I felt a bit old, so I want to bring some generational variety to Kama," the 30-something told the Global Times. "Also, as a DJ, I consider myself very familiar with my listeners, and I hope I can present them what they really want from a festival."
Zhang Youdai said he hopes to turn the festival into an annual event along the lines of Beijing's other big music showcases.
A single-day ticket for the festival is 180 yuan ($27.72), and a two-day combo is 300 yuan ($46.20), available in advance through www.damai.cn. Door tickets are 260 yuan ($40.04) for a single day.
