From Music-China Wiki
Born at the end of the 70's he has been playing guitars in different bands for many years, also taught music instruments and music production/song writing lessions at the Beijing Dancing University Highschool between 1998 and 2004. Currently he is a professional producer (worked for many famous Chinese pop stars both live recordings and studio productions) and song writer and a signed artist to Universal China.
There is a typical Beijing styled sound within his music, a very mellow combination of comtempolary accoustic pop / rock elements with traditional northern Chinese music instruments.

Hao Yun, the Beijing singer-songwriter whose name is a homophone for “good luck,” has a disregard for falsehood. With his first album, Hao Yun Beijing, Hao gave voice to disaffection with modern life against a meticulously-painted backdrop of Beijing in the new millennium. His new album, the pensively-titled Dream Revisited, maintains Hao’s focus on urban realism.
“There was a lot of complaint in the lyrics on the first album, but from listening to it, you could hear that I was speaking to you with a smile,” says Hao. “I try to take a healthy attitude to make true music.”
From the opening bars of the record’s eponymous opening track, Hao’s languid guitar and vocals are accompanied by a singsong sanxian and harmonica, creating an inescapably upbeat mood.
Having spent six years as a music teacher before making the transition to Beijing’s music scene, Hao has a sharp take on the music business in China. His outlook can be traced to the importance he places on being genuine: “It may seem like Chinese music is falling behind, but in fact it’s getting better ... When a few years ago, lip synching was banned for the first time on the Spring Festival show, I was so happy I almost cried.”
The new album’s cover photo of a laughing Hao playing guitar under a cloudy sky captures the feel of the record: an organic untroubledness that ultimately overcomes the sadness hinted at in songs such as "Sorrow Season."
Hao explains, “There’ve been times when I’ve been so depressed that it was hard to control myself ... There’s a saying that goes ‘You got something unhappy on your mind? Tell us about it, make us all happy!’”
On the album’s penultimate track, "Winter 2009," Hao sums up his philosophy for a carefree existence with a sing-along ballad that flows between quiet, contemplative verses and a soaring chorus of harmonica and piano. The lyrics allude to a desire for honest satisfaction in life, love and happiness, an attitude that is reflected in Hao’s respect for simple pleasures.
Like the first album, which became a runaway hit with its title track during pre-Olympics Beijing, Hao’s sophomore effort is striking a chord across China. In its first week of release, it topped the sales chart for China’s FAB music stores.
