From Music-China Wiki
CMCB stands for Chinese MC Brothers.
This Hip Hop / Crossover band has concentrated their lyrical focus on topics that concern young people. They do not sing about political issues as many foreign bands do.
The bands guitar player is also playing for Tookoo, a hardcore punk band from Beijing. He started learning guitar in 1995 and noted that his favorite guitar players are Eric Johnson and Queen.
The songwriting is splitted in the band. The vocalist concentrate on the lyrics, whereas the guitar player together with the bassist compose the melody and rhythm: the music.
Giving comments on their first CD (on which 8 songs are played with real drums, the others with software drums), CMCB is not overwhole happy with the mixing as the responsible technician paid not too much attention to the process. The next CD is going to be produced by CMCB themselves.
Setting their focus not only on recording but also on performing live, CMCB has two different kind of shows: crossover shows with heavy riffs and grunge-like music and hiphop rap shows including freestyle, DJ action and guitar free sessions. Diversity is their name.
May 29th, 2004, they performed at the Old Get Lucky bar.
May 1st-4th, 2006, they performed during the Midi Music Festival 2006.
